4-Day Lhasa Essential Small Group Tour
Lhasa · Lhasa · Lhasa · Lhasa
Lhasa is where almost every Tibet journey begins, and four days is enough to see its essential sights properly while your body adjusts to 3,656m. This small-group tour pairs you with a licensed English-speaking Tibetan guide and a private vehicle, and keeps the pace gentle on the first day so altitude has time to settle.
You'll stand beneath the Potala Palace, join the clockwise flow of pilgrims around the Jokhang Temple and Barkhor, and watch the famous afternoon debating of the monks at Sera. It's the most affordable way to experience the cultural heart of Tibet, and it slots neatly onto the front of any onward trip to Everest or the lakes.
Foreign travelers cannot visit Tibet independently. We arrange your Tibet Travel Permit, guide, and transport as part of the tour, so the only thing you need to organize is your China visa and your flight or train into Lhasa.

Day-by-Day Itinerary
Arrive in Lhasa
Your guide meets you at Lhasa Gonggar Airport or the railway station and transfers you to your hotel. The rest of the day is free to rest and acclimatize to the altitude. Drink plenty of water, avoid alcohol and strenuous activity, and take it slow. An optional gentle evening stroll near the hotel is the most we recommend today.
